Paper on Sustainable Governance and Transformations

Prof. Jonas Nielsen has first authored a paper with colleagues from the Global Land Programme on how to make land system science more normative. It is the framing paper of a special issue in "Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability".
Toward a normative land systems science

The paper argues that normative positions are increasingly required of sustainability sciences like land use science and that the latter is well placed to do so being a systemic science focusing on trade-offs and synergies. The paper suggests three concrete steps towards a more normative land system science, steps that also could apply in many other research domains focusing on sustainability issues.
