Fishbowl: how activist should scientists be?

On 20 September 2019, the IRI THESys invites you to a public fishbowl discussion debating varying levels of activism that scientists might engage in when researching transformations of human-environment systems.

20 September 2016, 18-19.30
Image Knowledge Gestaltung (BWG), Sophienstr. 22a, 10178 Berlin, 2nd backyard, lab

Transformation is a multi-faceted concept with varying meanings and assumptions about desired human-environment relations and pathways towards the ideal (sustainable) society. How should scientists position themselves when researching transformations of human-environment systems? This question will be debated by the participants of this year's THESys Summer School together with:

The panel:
  • Prof. Tobias Krüger, IRI THESys
  • Dr. Bettina König, IRI THESys
  • Josie Coburn, University of Sussex, UK

The fishbowl discussion is a public part of IRI THESys' Summer School 2019 focussing on "Transformative Human-Environment Research & Participatory Methods: From Co-production to Co-producing". All interested parties are cordially invited to join! No fees.
