IRI THESys ready for phase 2 after positive evaluation!

After the first four years of its existence, the IRI THESys was evaluated positively and could be prolonged for a second phase of four years, starting in June 2018.

On 1st December 2017, the Humboldt-Universität’s board of trustees made the final decision.

In total, external reviewers, the academic senate and the board of trustess of HU voted for prolonging the institute. Prior to the agreement, a self-report was handed in in March and a site visit with international experts took place in May followed by the HU decisions in October and December 2017.

IRI THESys' track record

The IRI THESys was founded in May 2013 after Humboldt-Universität's successful application in the German Excellence Initiative.

Now, more than four years later, six research groups have been established, a growing number of doctoral researchers have become member of the THESys Graduate Program (some of them have meanwhile finished their PhD), and several steps into both the science community and the society have been undertaken.

Now, we are looking forward to go further!
