Zeina ElZein is a PhD candidate at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Egypt. She is working on her PhD during the mobility period of her Erasmus programme (Erasmus and KA 107 Mobility Grant programme) as a member of the Multifunctional Landscapes Group, led by Dr. Ina Säumel.

Zeina's PhD topic is about Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD). During her stay in Berlin she intends to work on the second and third part of her research. The second part is composed mainly of 3 case studies of cities that have close challenges in the water sector to Egypt. These cities are Adelaide, Namibia and Lima. The third part is focused on developing a framework for implementation of WSUD in Egypt based on the studied cases.
