Political Economy and Land Use Dynamics: Quantifying Impacts of Land Governance on Deforestation, Food Prices and Trade Patterns

Xiaoxi Wang is a PhD candidate at the Land use modelling group, Research Domain II: Climate Impacts & Vulnerabilities at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts. He is admitted as a doctoral researcher at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Life Science, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His research interests include governance impacts on land use dynamics, technological progress in agricultural production, and international trade.

Xiaoxi studied Development Studies at the China Agricultural University and finished 2008 with a Bachelor Degree. After 1 year as a project assistant for the Action Aid, he decided to accomplish a master specialized in Agricultural and Environmental Economics at Ghent University and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Then he worked as a research assistant at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts. In October 2013, he has started his PhD study in Agricultural Economics at the Humboldt-Universität zu  Berlin.
