On 18 June, Humboldt University celebrated not only its current Deutschlandstipendium scholarship holders and sponsors in the ballroom on Luisenstraße, but also an anniversary: For 15 years, the scholarship has been supporting committed students with 300 euros a month for at least two
semesters.

A big thank you goes to the numerous sponsors who make the Germany Scholarship possible at Humboldt University. This is because the scholarships are funded equally by private donations and the federal government. In total, more than 900 students have been supported over the past 15 years. The total funding provided now amounts to several million euros. The evening’s programme also celebrated the Humboldt class ‘Sustainability and Global Justice’ offered by IRI THESys. This is one of the special support programmes offered as part of the Deutschlandstipendium: students from various disciplines conduct joint research into current issues and gain early experience in academic project work.
