Alumna (Coordination Graduate Program)

Kathrin Klementz was coordinator for the THESys Graduate Program from 2013-2023.

She studied Geography, Business Administration and Political Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, specializing in the field of Economic Geography. She started her career as an academic researcher in a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) at Humboldt-Universität. Afterwards she slightly changed her focus to the field of science management and coordinated a proposal for a graduate school to the DFG.

Kathrin started her current position at the IRI THESys in 2013, she was responsible for the doctoral researchers at the IRI THESys. Her work included the development of innovative formats in the research training program, the facilitation of interdisciplinary and intercultural networks among the doctoral researchers and other graduate programs and the initiation of international cooperation in the graduate education. From 2017 to 2022, Kathrin was also working for the Coordinating Office of the Postdoc Academy for Transformational Leadership at IRI THESys.

Since 2023, Kathrin focuses on another pillar and target group of the promotion of young academics: the master students. As coordinator for studies and teaching, she is responsible for the development of a master’s degree program at the Helmholtz Center for Cultural Technology, HU Berlin.
