The Long Night of the Sciences 2024

Ears open! A sound walk through the Long Night

    22. June 2024, 18.00-19.00
HU Berlin, Unter den Linden 6, Meeting point: Ehrenhof

What does Berlin sound like on a Saturday evening? Environmental sociologist Marvin Heine invites you to a sound walk through the Long Night. After a brief lecture on the 'Sociology of the Senses' and some warm-up exercises, we embark on an auditory excursion around the main building of HU Berlin. At various stations, we consciously perceive our city, make it resonate, and experiment with microphones. Listening, ignoring. Being loud, being quiet. Speaking, staying silent. All of this influences how we live together as a society.

    Please bring your own headphones!

    The Long Night of Science

This year's Long Night takes place on June 22, 2024. From 5 PM to midnight, around 70 scientific and science-related institutions in Berlin invite visitors to experiments, lectures, science shows, and laboratory tours, providing them with the opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes of research.
